SQL Sunsetting
As of Oct 11, 2022 Mainstream Support has ended for SQL Server 2017.
This means that Microsoft will no longer provide:
Incident support (no-charge incident support, paid incident support, support charged on an hourly basis, support for warranty claims)
Security update support
The ability to request non-security updates
Extended support lasts until 10/12/2027.
With extended support, Microsoft will still provide:
Paid support
Security updates at no additional cost
If you’re still running SQL Server 2017, or any older version, you should make plans to upgrade to 2022 as soon as possible. The DMaaS team at Moser Consulting is here to help with upgrading you to if not the latest version of SQL Server, at least to a currently supported one. View our data management page to learn more about how a good data strategy or DMaaS can help.
