Unlock the Mystery of VPNs: Your Key to Secure Internet Connections

A virtual private network, or VPN, is an encrypted connection over the Internet from a device to a network.

What is a VPN? A virtual private network, or VPN, is an encrypted connection over the Internet from a device to a network. The encrypted connection helps ensure that sensitive data is safely transmitted. It prevents unauthorized people from eavesdropping on the traffic and allows the user to conduct work remotely.

What kind of VPNs are available? Which should you use?

Personal VPN services

The first VPN type is the personal VPN, and this is probably the most common VPN that you know about. Personal VPNs hide your personal IP address from your internet service provider, or ISP, when your internet connection is from your home computer through the VPN server.

Mobile VPNs

As the name suggests, mobile VPNs are used on mobile devices like iOS or Android. This type of VPN works whether you are on your own wi-fi or public Wi-Fi or if you need encrypted protection for other kinds of cellular public network connections.

Remote access VPNs

The third VPN type is the remote access VPN. This is used for connecting to private networks. For example, a company makes its own private network, and the employees can access this remote network via a remote VPN when they are not in the office or on company premises.

Site-to-site VPNs

The fourth and type of VPN we are discussing here is site-to-site VPN use. This is for establishing a secure connection between two networks instead of routing an individual IP address to the internet or connecting multiple LANs to a single network.

Why a VPN is important?

VPNs can securely connect a user to a company's internal network or to the public Internet. Businesses typically use a VPN to give remote employees access to internal applications and data, or to create a single shared network between multiple office locations.

When is it important to us?

VPNs should be used whenever you are accessing specific company files, from a secured location, and also to change your password if not in an office.

Why is it used?

Organizations, governments, and businesses of all sizes use VPNs to secure remote connections to the internet for protection against data interception. Individuals also use personal VPNs to keep their locations private, safely encrypt data and browse the web anonymously.

How to VPN?

We use the VPN via the VPN settings or by clicking on the Wi-Fi in the bottom right and then signing with your Moser credentials. This will then load you into the VPN. Once you are connected to the VPN, then you can access secured files, and change your password as well. All without the need to go to a specific network. Then you can access secured files and change your password as well. All without the need to go to a specific location or be on a specific network.  Most people either use the VPN connection consistently, or almost never at all. Hopefully this helps give a better understanding of what all a VPN is and most of all what all it can do for you.
