MOSER PARTNERSHIP JOURNEY:

Values

Partner with an IT company that will put values before the bottom line.

How Do You Define Business Values?

Business values are the principles that a business deems important. By establishing their core values, a business can better judge the well-being of its work environment and overall success. These values are about more than how well a company or organization is doing financially. They also signify which relationships matter—whether that be with partners, employees, customers, community members, or even the environment. Values also establish standards for your business to strive for. When you have values in place, your employees will feel a sense of purpose in knowing what their work is building toward.

Merely defining your company’s values is not enough. You also have to set expectations for behaviors and attitudes based on those values. Practicing what you preach shows both your customers and your employees that they can trust your company to follow through with your promises.

How do you define business values?

What Are 6 Company Values?

There are so many core values for a company to choose from. You should choose a few to focus on. Let’s go over six of your options:

Six company values: innovation, honesty, commitment to customers, professional development, diversity, and quality

1.

Innovation

This value is all about making changes to different methods, products, and services as well as coming up with new ones along the way. Innovation allows companies to stay competitive in their market. Competitiveness leads to more business and happier customers. Innovation as a core value benefits those within the company, too, by inspiring creative juices to flow and encouraging professional development to make change possible.

2.

Honesty

This value encourages employees and customers to trust your company, which boosts business. It also creates a positive work environment, which influences talent management and employee retention efforts. This is especially important in a time when more than 19 million workers in the U.S. quit their jobs in a matter of 5 months.

3.

Commitment to Customers

This core value focuses on building positive relationships with customers. Specifically, it means following through on promises to customers and contacting them regularly to ensure that their thoughts are heard and needs met. Commitment to them drives loyalty and can even increase business. When you have more people who are satisfied with your company, you have more people to promote your company by word of mouth.

4.

Professional Development

This core value strengthens relationships between you and your employees. When you encourage your employees to improve upon their skills, you drive their purpose at work. When 70% of employees derive their sense of purpose from their work, this proves especially important. And as your employees’ skills improve, so too will their work, your products and services, your customers’ satisfaction, and your revenue.

5.

Diversity

This value focuses on hiring people from different economic, social, and cultural backgrounds. You may see this differences presented in the forms of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, level of education, and more. Diversity is important for making your business the best it can be. Having people from different backgrounds working within your company will also foster a wider variety of ideas, which drives further innovation and attracts more diverse populations.

6.

Quality

This value is all about creating products that will last and work well and services that do what is promised. It also means practicing good customer service. Quality products, services, and communication will make for happy customers and employees who trust and stand for what your company offers.

What We Value at Moser Consulting

We value our employees, our customers, our community, and our environment at Moser Consulting. Read on for some examples of our core values put to practice.

Employees

Employees

We believe that people make or break the success of a company. That’s why we treat our people like family. We want to see our team members achieve their goals, and we give them the avenues to do that through several training opportunities. In fact, we provide each team member with more than 50 hours’ worth of training each year so that they can reach their full potential and continue to provide the best services possible to our customers. Those opportunities, combined with competitive salaries, benefits, and perks have earned us a spot on the Best Places to Work list in Indiana for eight years in a row. We’re even certified as a National Great Place to Work!

Despite this recognition for our company culture, we never stop finding ways to improve. We make changes to workflow and practices based on feedback from our employees. We believe that open communication builds healthier relationships with our team members. That communication allows our employees and our company to meet our potential. And studies have found that open communication leads to increased job satisfaction and overall success.

Customers

Customers

At Moser Consulting, we care about more than merely providing our customers with technology. We prioritize seeing our customers’ businesses succeed. And that’s why our relationships with our customers are based on having a partnership with one another rather than taking over all things IT. We know that you care about your business and know your business best, so we will work alongside you to make sure we provide you with the tools you need to achieve your goals.

Community

Community

Community involvement provides businesses with the opportunity to boost reputation and employee engagement while also supplying charitable organizations with support both financially and with volunteers. At Moser Consulting, we take advantage of these opportunities. Each year, our employees offer about 1,000 hours of their time to help with 15 charities. We also sponsor about 35 children and assist with food and toy drives. Up until this point, our staff has also built eight Habitat for Humanity houses as well (you can listen to our podcast about it here). Social mindedness gives us the opportunity to help those in need and make a difference in the lives of those in our community.

Environment

Environment

Did you know that the technology industry is responsible for 5-10% of all greenhouse gas emissions around the world? That’s a pretty big carbon footprint. To combat this issue, Moser has taken several steps to decrease our impact on the environment. We have:

  • Installed LED lights both inside and outside our buildings. These lights use 75% less power than standard light bulbs and last longer.

  • Encouraged reusing and recycling in the workplace wherever possible.

  • Installed car charging stations at our corporate headquarters complete with an access pass for free and timely recharges for electric vehicles.

  • Switched to using rechargeable batteries wherever we can and recycling disposable batteries, which account for more than 20% of hazardous waste in landfills).

  • Started a podcast about Green IT, which you can listen to here or on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, or Spotify.
